Jan. 31 is Philip Glass’s birthday. The American composer is 87, and over the course of a long career, one of his most frequent collaborators has been the choreographer Molissa Fenley. They began working together back in 1986 with a piece called Descent Into The Maelstrom. Now, Fenley is premiering a new work with new piano music by Philip Glass, and also premiering two other works based on the music of the late Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto at Roulette, every night through Saturday.
